TAFE Queensland Nurunderi graduates celebrate success!
Recently the TAFE Queensland Nurunderi campus in Cherbourg buzzed with excitement, as students donned their gowns and mortar boards to celebrate the completion of their studies, during a special graduation ceremony for the class of 2023.
Crossing the stage amidst applause of their family, friends, and TAFE Queensland teachers and staff, the proud graduands received their commemorative certificates in a range of study areas including construction, business, health, and hairdressing.
A number of local Murgon State High School students were amongst the group of graduates who attended the ceremony after a completing the TAFE at School Certificate I in Construction (CPC10120) course last year.
They learned practical trade skills throughout the course, guided by industry-experienced TAFE Queensland Carpentry Teacher, Mick Scott, while constructing hands-on projects from scratch, including tables and a wishing well.
“I learnt a lot, had great times and made new mates, and it (construction) is a path towards what I want to do when I’m older,” said Murgon State High School student, Trae Allport.
TAFE Queensland Nurunderi Campus Coordinator, Tabitha Bleys, emphasised the significance of this date on the campus calendar and said the Nurunderi team enjoyed celebrating with the students every year.
“It’s always wonderful to share the occasion together – showcasing the dedication and achievement of our graduates, surrounded by their families and friends,” Mrs Bleys said.
“They’re now looking to the future, well-prepared for their next steps. With the confidence and skills, they can pursue further training or employment in their chosen fields.”
“We can’t wait to see where their new-found skills take them and on behalf of the TAFE Queensland team, we wish them all the best with the next stage of their journeys.”
