This highly anticipated annual event promises to showcase the creative brilliance of graduating students, from certificate through to degree level. With an impressive track record on the Brisbane fashion calendar, TAFE Queensland's Protégé Fashion Show has become a must-see event, featuring some of the hottest names in local fashion.
Prepare to be amazed by the innovative and resourceful designs, intricate craftsmanship, and sophisticated and unique garments that will grace the runway. The event will also feature a full student portfolio exhibition, providing an opportunity to explore the talents of Brisbane's next generation of designers up close.
Your ticket gives you exclusive access to the Protégé Fashion Show and portfolio exhibition where you will experience the extraordinary and unparalleled talent of Brisbane's emerging designers.

TICKET PRICES AND INCLUSIONS
Showcasing students will be sent a personalised invitation inviting them to purchase their ticket at the discounted rate of $25.

ADDITIONAL TICKETING INFORMATION
The VIP Function is an opportunity to network with our amazing showcasing students, sponosrs and industry partners.
- Gold and Silver ticket holders, and all showcasing students, have access to the VIP Function.
- The function commences at 5.30pm and concludes at 6.45pm, before the fashion show at 7pm.
- VIP Function ticket holders are entitled to a one (1) hour food and beverage package from 5.30-6.30pm.
- The bar will close at 6.30pm to allow guests the opportunity to finish their beverages before taking their seats.
- Our caterers will be enforcing Responsible Service of Alcohol rules and have the right to refuse services to patrons who appear intoxicated.
- The VIP Function is an 18+ event only due to the service of alcohol.
Seating for the event will be allocated by event organisers based on first-come, first-served and group purchases.
You will receive your Row and Seat numbers closer to the event, with your official ticket. If you and your guests wish to be seated next to each other you must process all tickets in the same transaction. (Just like buying tickets for a concert! Purchase together - sit together).
If you purchase a standing ticket, no allocation is required and you do not need to purchase tickets as a group.
- Bookings are strictly non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, you may gift your ticket to another person. No need for a change of details. We do not support the re-selling of tickets on third-party platforms.
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 2 are free as long as they do not require a seat.
- A valid form of ID will be required if consuming alcohol (drivers license, passport, proof of age card. Student ID cards are not a valid form of ID).
- No external food or drink is allowed inside the venue. This is a catered event with food and drinks available onsite.
- Seating for the event will be allocated by event organisers based on first-come, first-served and group purchases. Once you have been issued your ticket with your seat allocation it cannot be changed. To avoid disappointment, please book your tickets in the same transaction as the guests you want to sit with.

The Fashion Centre of Excellence precinct at the Mt Gravatt campus will host the 2024 Protégé Fashion Show, with an outdoor fashion parade under the stars.

World-Class Training Facilities to Foster Fashionista Creativity
The world-class facilities at the Fashion Centre of Excellence, Mt Gravatt, play a vital role in setting up TAFE Queensland students for successful careers in the fashion industry.
While hundreds of fashion careers have been handcrafted from the South Brisbane hub since training first began over 30 years ago, we can now expect hundreds more since this significant upgrade to adapt to the ever-evolving standards of the global fashion industry.
The Centre has been modernised, has expanded in size, and all of its equipment has been upgraded to give fashion students the real-world experience of working in an international design house.
Featuring state of the art interiors with flowing ceilings and a clean, contemporary space to accommodate exhibitions, parades and fashion events, students bring their creativity to life using state of the art Juki Industrial Straight sewing machines and bag making equipment for leather, canvas and heavy fabrics.
The gallery space for functions and fashion showcases is 338sqm, with the manufacturing and design space sitting at 1,431sqm and equipped with:
- Two 3D printers
- Laser cutting machine
- Fabric printer and natural fibres printing
- Full-Screen printing for large fabric
- Loom (spinning of fabrics)
- Accessory machinery and industrial walk foot for heavy materials or canvas and leathers
- Free arm walk foot – skiver that reduces the thickness of leather
- Burnishing machine for leather edge finish
- Two eyelet component machines – rivets press studs
- Roller heat pressing for tailoring
- A full range of dress mannequins
- Large touch screens for presentations in all rooms
- Fully automatic buttonhole machine
- Four thread overlockers
- Five thread flatlock machine (specialising in stretch fabrics)
- Textile testing and research equipment
- Cylinder cutting machine
- A 2D/3D technical design lab focusing on sustainable pattern design in a digital environment
- StyleCad and Clo3D digital technology to enhance our sustainability credentials

Start a creative career in fashion with this introductory course. This qualification will give you the entry-level skills required to gain an assistant role in the fashion industry.
Choosing to study a TAFE at School course is a great way to get a vocational qualification while you’re still in high school. You also gain valuable credits towards your QCE, an apprenticeship, a diploma or university.

Get a start on your fashion career through learning the foundations. This qualification will qualify you to undertake further studies or work as a fashion design assistant.

Accelerate your career in the fashion industry with dual certificate III and diploma level qualifications from TAFE Queensland. This course will give you the specialised skills and knowledge to flourish within the design, manufacturing, wholesale or retail areas of the fashion industry.
BACHELOR OF CREATIVE INDUSTRIES (APPLIED FASHION) (ARB402)
The Bachelor of Creative Industries (Applied Fashion) offers students a unique opportunity to study fashion. A major strength of this course is its position within a specialist design, visual arts, and multi-media institution with the potential for students to work alongside other cultural and creative disciplines. The course prepares students for a highly competitive fashion industry career by ensuring that graduates have the vocabulary and industry knowledge they need to succeed.

Can I park at TAFE Queensland Mt Gravatt campus?
Yes you can! There will be plenty of parks available on the night.
Does the Mt Gravatt campus offer access to people with a disability?
Our TAFE Queensland Mt Gravatt campus is fully wheelchair accessible. We provide a range of services and facilities to enable our visitors and students attending performances, exhibitions and other campus activities.
With advance notice we can accommodate a range of individual needs and we strongly encourage visitors to notify staff of any individual needs by emailing events.brisbane@tafeqld.edu.au.
Do I need to purchase a Protégé Fashion Show ticket?
Yes, seats are limited so booking is required. There will be standing room on the night and if this allocation is not exhausted before the event, we will be selling standing tickets on the night from the information table at the entrance
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Bookings are strictly non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, you may gift your ticket to another person. No need for a change of details. We do not support the re-selling of tickets on third party platforms.
What is the age limit?
There is no age limit. The fashion show is a family-friendly event and suitable for people of all ages.

Is there a cloak room?
No, there will not be a cloak room available. Please keep all your belongings with you.
What should I bring?
Camera and/or mobile for capturing the experience during the event. Please do not bring selfie sticks or tripods.
No external food or drink is allowed inside the venue. This is a catered event and food and drinks will be available onsite.
